Anatrans is the biggest cashew processing plant in Burkina Faso. It has and installed processing capacity of over 6,000 Mtons of Raw Cashew Nuts on annual basis. The plant is located in Bobo-Dioulasso in the South-West of Burkina Faso. In this region approximately 35,000 MTon of Raw Cashews Nuts are grown by thousands of farmers.
In 2010, Anatrans started processing and is gradually grown to the biggest employer in Burkina Faso. Nowadays, Anatrans employs 1,500 people of which 80% is female! The people are working for a fair salary and under good working conditions. The factory itself is ACA
Afokantan Benin Cashew S.A.
Afokantan Benin Cashew is the oldest operational cashew processing factory in Benin. The plant is located in Tchaourou, a small village in the middle of Benin. The company is exporting approx. 300 MT of cashew nut kernels (requires an input of approximately 1,500 MT of Raw Cashew Nuts). With this capacity, the factory it is one of the biggest processing factories in Benin.
Afokantan is set up to counter the trend of exports of Raw Cashew Nuts to Asia, without any local value addition. At current the factory employs 310 employees, whereof 275 women. Next to a decent salary all the workers have
